Hartwin Industries Group is undoubtedly the largest demolition recycler within the industry, having set the basic standard for recycling materials from all of their sites for over 25 years and have paved the way for others to follow.

Throughout this time the business has established its own recycling and transfer facility and through enhanced techniques, the services and abilities in order to recycle all applicable materials from every project has gone from strength to strength.

As recycling is a standard practice for Hartwin Industries Group it is a company policy that on every project the business must meet a target of recycling 96% of materials from the site (excluding contaminated or hazardous materials).

One of Hartwin Industries Group primary beliefs is that recycling is a paramount aspect of any project as there are a variety of ramifications to the environment, costs of the project, cost of raw materials and the basic impact on the community if every step is not taken to ensure that all materials from every project where possible are recycled.

It is a common misconception that recycling can add more to the cost of a project; this is untrue provided the company undertaking the works is knowledgeable, efficient and versatile in their procedures and practices when undertaking the works.

Hartwin Industries Group bases all projects undertaken on a rating of “maximum recycling power” for the following reasons:

  • Recycling reduces the cost of disposal and transport fees
  • Recycling reduces waste and the need for more disposal space
  • Recycling can add value to a project, with monetary returns instead of disposal costs
  • Recycling helps save the environment
  • Absolutely anything (excluding materials containing hazardous substances) can be recycled

Hartwin Industries Group endeavours to recycle/reuse as much material from each site with the aim of 96% per project, such examples of the recycling streams which Hartwin Industries Group has established are;

  • Concrete
  • Steel
  • Timbers
  • Non-ferrous
  • Electrical fittings
  • Carpets and other flooring materials
  • Grid ceilings and tiles
